How Much Does a Penetration Test Cost in 2026?

PRICING$

There is no reliable single price without a scope. Compare quotes using the same assets, roles, environments, testing depth, reporting requirements and retest terms. This article is a buying guide, not an ABZSECURE price list or a market-price survey.

RED FLAG

Ask how findings are validated and what safe evidence the report includes. A scanner export alone does not demonstrate manual investigation or business-logic coverage.

What actually drives the price

  • Scope size — number of applications, APIs, user roles, hosts, and environments.
  • Depth — representative identities, business-logic investigation and source-assisted review change the effort needed; compare the actual work, not only the test label.
  • Compliance requirements — evidence formatted for ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI DSS auditors adds reporting effort.
  • Retesting — confirm the included findings, time window and conditions in writing. ABZSECURE includes retests of fixed findings within the agreed engagement window; changed scope is agreed separately.

The trap: scanner reports sold as pentests

Price alone does not establish quality. Ask whether the work includes manual validation, role and tenant testing, business-logic investigation and a debrief. Automated tools can support the engagement, but their output still needs interpretation and a stated coverage boundary.

Questions to ask any provider

  • Who is actually doing the testing, and what are their certifications?
  • Is testing manual and hypothesis-driven, or tool output?
  • Is a retest of fixed findings included?
  • Can I see a sanitised sample report before signing?

A useful engagement produces evidence for a decision and a practical remediation plan. It cannot guarantee that a breach, audit exception or lost deal will be prevented.

Concerned about any of this in your environment?

ABZSECURE helps organisations test, validate and remediate these issues with reproducible evidence, not scanner output alone. Start with a no-obligation conversation.
